Greetings. I have searched the posts and I am seeing a lot of similar topics. Hard drives not being detected.
I have tried to install Maccabbe-i386-u3 from both the DVD and CD media, after having checked Md5 sums are correct. I know I have a 64 bit processor, but I have tried many different 64 bit distros and have a lot of trouble with them. The only 64 bit distro that would run on my Toshiba is Open SuSE. When installing in both GUI and text modes, I get an error that I do not have a hard drive.
I have also tried installing from my USB stick after using dd to copy the boot image. same result.
Here are some details:
Toshiba laptop with Athlon X2 64 bit processor, ATI graphics 3gig ram, SATA 250 gig HD. SATA DVD drive.
The Label on the hard drive is ata-FUJITSU_MHZ2250BH_G1_K61DT8827BHN
This SATA hard drive is partitioned into six pieces
Two Primary partitions (windows, windows) Four Logical partitions (linux, linux, linux, swap)
I am currently downloading ML-5.0.5 and will try again.

Maccabbee is a rather old distro, if you want to use it I suggest to use a regular IDE drive. But seriously, please get yourself the latest Kishuf (AS-5.0.3) instead, AS-3 series will be discontinued soon. Cheers!
